CLAY CENTER
(KS) -- Helen E WHETSTINE, 88, Clay Center, died Saturday, Sept 4,
1999, at a Clay Center nursing
home. Mrs Whetstine had worked for Lincoln Heights Grocery
Store and Hoyle's IGA Grocery
store for several years.
She was
born Aug 26, 1911, in Clay County, the daughter of George and Antonio SPACEK
LIPPERT. She was a lifelong
resident of Clay County. Mrs Whetstine was a member of the
First Presbyterian Church in Clay
Center.
She married
George WHETSTINE on Mar 21, 1937. He survives. Other
survivors include
a son, Douglas WHETSTINE, Denver
(CO); a daughter, Nancy RYAN, Clay Center; a sister,
Ann LARSON, Clay Center; four
grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Services
will be at 10:30am Tuesday at the First Presbyterian Church in Clay Center.
Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery
in Clay Center. Mrs Whetstine will lie in state from 3 to
8pm Monday at Neill-Schwensen-Rook
Funeral Home in Clay Center. Contributions may be
made to the Helen E Whetstine
Memorial Fund to be designated later and sent in care of the
family.
