In the Methodist parsonage at 3 o'clock Tuesday
afternoon, August 28, Mrs. Gertrude Wheeler and Mr.
M. F. Musil, both of this city, were united in marriage.
The double ring ceremony was read by the Rev.
Herbert Cockerill. The bride and bridegroom and
their attendents stood before the fireplace. White
candles and asters in varigated hues adorned the
mantle. Two tall floor baskets, one on each side filled
with gladiolias completed the setting. Only members
of the immediate family were present.
The bride wore a street length dress of light gray
mesh with chartreuse accessories. Her corsage was
of American Beauty rosebuds. As matrons of honor,
her sister, Mrs. Bertha Henderson, wore a beige
crepe dress, gold accessories and a pink rosebud
corsage. Mr. Will Musil, brother of the bridegroom,
was best man.
Following the ceremony the bridal party and guests
were entertained at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Clavin
Thompson where light refreshments were served
before the couple departed for a short wedding trip.
After September 4, Mr. and Mrs. Musil will be at home
at the Waltheim apartments. The guest presented them with some attractive and useful gifts.
Out of town guests at the wedding: Mr. J. M. Musil and Miss Adelka Musil, Cleburne; Miss Anna Musil, Blue Rapids; Mr. and Mrs. Will Musil, Tonganoxie. Mrs. Musil is secretary to the assistant dean of agriculture, Kansas State college and Mr. Musil is Clerk of the District court. |
