Mary Osner, the eldest daughter of Anna and Joseph
Osner, was born March 27, 1875 at Predborice,
Czechoslovakia. She passed away at her home
southwest of Irving, Kansas, Feb. 29, 1948 at the age
of 72 years, 11 months, 2 days, after a lingering
illiness of almost 2 years. When she was 6 years old, she with her parents, brother and sister, came to America, settling in this vicinity where she always lived. On May 23, 1894, she was united in marriage to Louis Sedivy. They made their home on a farm in Riley County. To this union were born 5 children; Augusta, who passed away Nov. 15, 1942; Marie; Anna; Emily; and Adolph. In 113 they moved to their new farm home in Marshall County where it was their privilege to celebrate their Golden Wedding anniversary almost 4 years ago. She was a kind and loving wife and mother, devoted to her home and family. She performed, with patience and the spirit of helpfulness, the daily tasks, that form such a big part of our lives. Her hands were never too tired to do something for her family. She also enjoyed to meet with her friends and neighbors. Through her long illness, she was very patient, never complaining, always thinking of better things in the future |
She leaves to mourn her departure--her companion of
more then 50 years -- 3 daughters, Marie Musil and
Emily Horalek of Irving and Anna Rigel of Blue
Rapids; 1 son Adolph Sedivy of Irving; 10
grandchildren; 1 brother Wesley Osner of Cleburne --
2 sisters, Mrs. Charles Kotapish and Miss Paulina
Osner of Irving; other relatives and a host of friends. Sad and sudden was the call For our dear mother, loved by all We never thought that on that day Our dear mother would be called away God took her home; it was His will But in our hearts we love her still We think of her in silence, no eyes may see us weep But many a silent tear is shed, while others are fast asleep Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Williams of Blue Rapids at the Czech Presbyterian Church south of Blue Rapids, Wednesday, March 3 at 2 o'clock.
